The joy of deadlines.
The value of deadlines are measured by the ease of extending it. Instead of the old boring “under construction” page, I added a nifty little count down timer to the root of my own site, giving myself a deadline to go live with ThisSideUpMedia.co.za. Having full access to my own design, I often challenged the mathematical equation to extend the deadline. Earlier today I did it yet again and whether I’ll stay true to my intentions this time I highly doubt. One can only imaging how old my first post will be by the time the first person get to comment? In the meantime, I’ll focus on the deadlines of paying jobs. May the weekend finish this one. That is exactly what weekends are for. AAA school of advertising taught me that, many moons ago amongst a few other things. And when I entered the industry a few less moons ago, I was not-so-pleasantly surprised to find the truth in my studies. Goodnight.

Hi Schalk,
I’ve only just (accidentally) discovered your Web site by actually recommending it to a friend, without knowing I was recommending you. Then I clicked on the link myself.
WELL DONE BROE!
I really like your own site design and the designs you’ve done for your clients. (Ye, I looked through your portfolio.)
I really wish you the best of luck! I’m sure that in no time you’ll have clients queueing up to use your services.
Warm Regards
Eric
I have found myself on your site via medo.co.za and a superb ability to procrastinate, um, I mean, RESEARCH.
Having set up my own website http://www.createdby.co.za (with technical help, I am more front end admin, content and copy) I know only too well the need to give preference to paying jobs as well as the equal need to commit to finishing the ‘project’.
It is a catch 22 situation, you need to earn to fund the project that will (hopefully) earn, but in doing so you become too busy to finish anything and so it goes on.
Love the countdown idea though, a little bit of pressure might make me at least attempt to get back on track, but then again….
